Drawing and Painting with the Masters

August 12, 2019 by whitefences

With guidance from teaching artist Barbara Thomas, the class will begin with drawing in the galleries to learn the fundamentals of landscape, nature and portrait painting. In the second session we will work in the studio exploring painting materials and techniques, including color mixing, how to ‘lay in’ a drawing or painting and tricks for achieving effects that make a successful work. We will use gouache watercolor, a user-friendly water-based paint that makes achieving all painting effects easy and rewarding.
